Hi, my name is Derek.  I’m a marketing professional, world traveler, and displaced Texan living in North Carolina Texas finally living in Texas again.  Living in North Carolina has given me great access to some of the best golf this country has to offer.  You really can’t beat the combination of great golf, great weather, and proximity to the beach/mountains.

I created 72strokes as a forum to share my thoughts on golf.  I’m a bit of a gear nut and I’m always interested in the latest and greatest golf equipment.  I also have some golfing friends with strong opinions about various topics and hopefully they’ll be contributing some articles as well.
