Mountain Lions on the Desert Mountain Golf Club's Cochise Course in Scottsdale Arizona

Most golfers have seen quite a bit of wildlife on the golf course.  Deer are pretty common in many areas of the country.  Occasionally you might see a fox running across the fairway.  I even once had a squirrel take my golf ball from the green and run up a tree.  However I’ve never, ever seen or heard of anybody coming across a mountain lion with her two cubs on the golf course.

But that’s exactly what Scottsdale residents Linda and Ty Berman saw when they looked out their window across the fourth hole of the Cochise Course at the Desert Mountain Golf Club this past week.

Mount Merapi in Indonesia has been erupting since October.  The USGS took some pictures from a satellite last week.  Remember children, when a volcano and a golf course collide, the volcano wins.  You can pretty much substitute just about anything for “golf course” in that last sentence.
